3 V. 3 Indoor Soccer Rules & Regulations

 

RULES of PLAY

Rosters: No roster changes after the first game.

Player Registration: Six is the maximum number of players allowed on a team. Three players will be on the field. A player may play on only one team. There are no goalkeepers.

Age Verification: Each player is required to have with them proper age verification documentation (copy of birth certificate, player card, school I.D. with age listed-not grade level). Inability to produce said documents at the time of request will result in player’s ineligibility and forfeiture of that game.

Playing Field: all games are played on an indoor field approximately 30 x 40 yards.

Goal Box: Players may not touch the ball within the goal box/arch.  Active defending from within the goal box/arch will result in an indirect kick. Active defending within the goal box/arch that stops a goal will result in a penalty kick.

Scoring: A goal may be scored only from a touch within the team's offensive half of the field.

Offside: No offside.

Slide tackling: No slide tackling.

Uniforms: All players must wear similar colored shirts during play. Each team is also required to bring dark and light colored shirts. All players must wear shin guards.  No cleats allowed.

Game Duration: Games are two 12-minute halves. Half time is two minutes. No time outs.

Substitutes: Substitutions are on the fly.

Penalty Kicks: Direct kick taken from the middle of the half field line.

Restarts & Kick Off: A direct kick and may be taken in any direction.

Quarterfinal/Semifinal and finals: During group play ties stand and each team shall receive 1 point. If the score is tied at the end of regulation during a playoff game, the game shall go to sudden death overtime. First team to score is the winner.

Side Line Out: Restarts are indirect and must be kicked from within 2 feet of the wall.

End Line Out: On the offensive half, a restart is taken from the corner within 2 feet of the wall.  On the defensive half, a restart is taken from the goal box/arch. 

Defending a Restart: Defense allows for 8 feet or goal box/arch line, whichever is closest.

Ball Sizes: U9 - U12 uses a size 4, U13 and up uses a size 5. Each team is responsible for bringing at least one game ball.

Referees: Abuse of any kind of the referees will not be tolerated. Any such behavior by a coach, player,  parent, or any other spectator will result in removal from the tournament site without refund.
